Quick Fish carving tip

Here is an old tip that is worth repeating. It was first introduced to me by Will Hayden, a wonderful carver and friend of many in the northwest. This is an effective way to repair broken fins, fin rays or other small repairs on your carvings. Simply clean the area you wish to repair. Make a small mound of baking soda and set it aside. Apply a couple drops of Super Glue to the damaged area, then dip it into the baking soda to form a small ball. If needed you can repeat that step to achieve the desired size. Once the glue has set, it can be sanded and shaped easily, making a very durable repair. -Ray Dodge
